Welcome to my new blog series, "Understanding the Grid."  This series aims to act as a primer for anyone entering the Power and Utilities industry to help them quickly get up to speed on core technologies and industry lingo.

In this series, we will explore the power grid's inner workings, history, and importance in modern society.   The North American power grid is a complex network of power plants, transmission lines, and distribution systems that provides electricity to homes and businesses across the country. It is an essential part of our infrastructure, enabling us to power our daily lives.

We will also discuss the challenges facing the power grid today, such as the need for increased renewable energy sources and the importance of ensuring reliable and stable power.
